👠There’s No Place Like Home👠
Like many of you, one of the things I’ve been entertaining myself with these past few months are the latest streaming series to binge watch. Tiger King, in all of its ridiculousness, was a welcomed distraction from the surreal pandemic we’ve been enduring, and The Last Stand has been an incredible inspiration to always do my very best. Although, if you haven’t caught some of the current commercials on ‘regular’ TV right now, I think you’re missing out because for once I feel most of the advertisers’ messages are more genuine and heartfelt.
One of those commercials that impacted me is by Lowe’s Home Improvement titled The Feeling of Home (Google “Lowe’s TV Commercial The Feeling of Home” to watch it if you haven’t, yet). Of course, as a Realtor and a homeowner, I felt it spoke to me, but you don’t need to be in real estate or own a home to appreciate the commercial nor the four walls you live within.
Most of us have created a place of peace within the place that we call home. It’s a sanctuary where we retreat to each day, a place we feel we need to protect, and a refuge where we can be our true selves. Whether its small, medium, or large, in the city, suburb or the country, shared with our loved ones, roommates, or on our own, it’s still ‘home’ and it has a special spot in each of our hearts – at least this is what I hope for each of you. 🥰
Each of us has had to adapt to a whole new way of life these last few months. We’ve turned our homes into our workplaces, gyms, schools, entertainment centers, etc. and cooked more meals at home than ever before, had more items delivered to our front doors, learned video conferencing to stay social, and consulted with medical professionals virtually. Many of us have filled some of our extra time with home projects to improve our humble abodes and, at the same time, are discovering how to communicate better with our loved ones. Our homes are usually very important to each of us, but I hope today that you are even more grateful for it than before.
As Charlie and I celebrate our 10-year anniversary of being homeowners (and Oviedo residents), we are reflecting on what the place we call ‘home’ means to us. What does home mean to you? What’s the thing you appreciate most about your home? What have you learned you like the least? I would love to hear your responses.
Your Caring Friend and Realtor,
Amber
