Six Months? What?!
Hello friends!
Can you believe that’s it has been six months since we have been living in this COVID 19 Pandemic? As I have been doing these updates now for the entire time, I have a pile of these cards on my desk. Today I thought it would be interesting to look back and compare where we are. So in this weeks video you will see the numbers and the trends over that period. Check it out below.
Are you satisfied at home?
I also wanted to share some information I read in a an article from searshomeservices.com called Making A House a Home in the Time of COVID 19. A recent survey on home satisfaction during the pandemic came up with some pretty cool facts. They asked a group of homeowners who had at least one other person living with them and also took note of how many bedrooms were in the home and included families with and without children. Findings showed overall 44% of the people were feeling less satisfied with their home since the pandemic began. The lower the number of bedrooms in the homes and those with children placed higher on the dissatisfied percentage.

Alone Together
They also asked about ‘alone time’ as, let’s face it, everyone has been feeling a little trapped and suffering from ‘COVID Fatigue’. When people were asked how to have some alone time, the majority of people walked dogs or worked on a home improvement project and some hid in the bathroom. A funny fact is that a whopping 79% of respondents told a lie to get their much needed alone time – and those families with children were in the highest category. A lot of this information is what I am seeing and hearing from clients and friends. It makes sense.
“The New Normal”
With so many people working from home, children doing their education online, etc – dining rooms have become offices. Kitchens have become classrooms. Bedrooms have become conference rooms. The sanctity of personal space has been replaced. A number of clients are moving now simply to have a more functional space. If that’s you or someone you know, I would be honored to help them. In the meantime, all is not doom and gloom. Designated family game nights, spending time outside and enjoying time away from screens and phones all help to get some valuable time alone and together. Should you have any personal suggestions that work for you and your family, I’d love if you would share them.
I hope you are all staying healthy. If I can help you in any way please feel free to reach out via phone, text, email – whatever works best for you.
Have a great week!

Amber
